Jaded - It's the Last Day of School!

Another creation made rather quickly as my son wanted another necklace made for his resource teacher, Mrs. Melissa Proctor (I didn't even get any help or observations this time). Since my son likes simple things and not too extravagant this is what was created. Mrs. Proctor was delighted to receive this gift and she put it on right away. She mentioned that she wanted something with shells and she received her wish. I'm sure her other wish, which came true today, was that it was the last day of the school for 2007. Summer vacation here we come.

Yellow Turquoise, Fluorite, Korean Jade, Butter Jade,
Shell Pendant and Pewter Flower Charm.

Perfect Gift for that Special Teacher.

Flourite, Apatite, Moss Agate, Ocean Wave Glass Tube Bead
and Pewter Flower Charm.
I made this necklace for my son's teacher, Mrs. Amber Anderson. My son mentioned that he wanted it very simple, so my brains tried to create it as simple as I could (since I was on a time-line of making it less than 30 minutes). While I was making the necklace my son told me to stop as that was 'it'. Wow! He was correct as the necklace didn't need anymore embellishments as it looked just right. My son has such good taste and I love his critism (even though he says I made nicer things in the past ;(). So here it is . . . . my creation collaberated with my son - I think I still have brain cells left.

Let's Party On Birthday Girl!

I wanted to give my friend, Janet, a wonderful gift for her 40th birthday. I would have gone to the store to buy that 'perfect' gift, but the best gift is making something special that no one else could find - one of a kind piece of jewellery. I gave her a card with an IOU a piece of jewellery, but she had to inform me what colour choice she wanted. Janet choose the colour 'purple'. I didn't know if I had enough purples in my stash, but it worked out beautifully. I was so impressed how the colours all co-ordinated together.
I sure hope she loves it like
I do! What do you think?

Designer Runway!

Hemitite, Black Glass Beads, Ceramic Turd Lookin' Beads and Copper Disc.
My friend asked me to look at some beads she had on hand that look like 'turds' and make something. I took on the challenge but it wasn't as easy as I anticipated. I had so many ideas that went through my head and I even strung some on but had to take it apart - it just didn't look right. Then a brilliant light went on! Actually, I was moving a bag of beads over and peaked into the bag and voila! the idea came to me. I'm very happy with what turned out. My friend, Jane, ended up taking it with her to one of the Fashion Shows, this past weekend, she was involved with. I was very happy to showcase this in an actual fashion show. I'm big now! lol.

Going Hawaiin

Coconut Ring Disk, Poppy Jasper & Red Tiger Eye.
This is my newest inspiration. I saw these coconut ring disk and I knew I had to do something with them. I named this 'Going Hawaiin" because of the coconut and I want to get away from the freezing cold weather. As I'm writing this the weather is -17C with the windchill factor -30C. Therefore, I am ready to put this set on and dream on going to Hawaii where it is surely warmer than here.

Creations from the Bead Challenge 2007

I made this necklace today with the extra pieces I had from the Bead Challenge 2007. It was quite simple to add extra gems to complete the length that was needed.

Coral Chips, Coin Shells, AB Rocky Crystal and Quartz Crystal.

I made this necklace last week but it was sitting on the table until today. I had difficulty with the wire and/or crimps breaking. I had to restring it many times and I was getting frustrated. Even though stringing is relatively easy it can be difficult if you do not have the proper wire as I had thought I purchased.

Purple Ice Flake Quartz, Coin Shells, Korean Jade, Black Bead, Mini Blue Glass Crow Beads and Multi-Colour Glass Beads.

Izzy's Creating Masterpieces

I've made many things over the years and I'm training myself to scan my creations to post or just keep in my files (this will be one of my New Year's Resolutions starting today - wish me luck!) I love using any types of beads, gems and I love chainmaille. I started off giving my items away as gifts then my friend opened up a jewellery store and allows me bring in my creations in to sell. That is one way of receiving extra monies to support my hobby.

I made this bracelet last week. This is my first attempt making a spiral rope. I tried to make another one but it sure didn't look anything like this one. I am very good at misinterpreting instructions for some reason. Anyways, I wanted to hide the clasp so I made a floral at the end of the rope. It turned out better than I expected.

I made this set last Friday for a Bead Challenge. A moderator, Jen, purchased beads for all interested for a nominal fee and surprised us with what was purchased (10 bags of goodies). We had to use 50% of the beads sent to us in our creations. I used 6 bags of my gems to make this creation. I could have put my own beads in this but I thought stringing the ones supplied to me was just perfect. I am very happy with what evolved.
Pink Calcite Marquise, Triangular Shell, Black Agate,
Yellow Calcite Dice, Hematite Square Tube &
Green Aventuring Nuggets.
